IT firms could follow the steps taken by Panasonic, an expert has suggested.
The electronics firm has recently announced its new green policies.
These included actions which it claimed will help cut its environmental impact and minimise its carbon emissions.
A spokesperson for therenewableenergycentre.co.uk said that the adoption of such technology is a "very positive step forwards".
The representative added: "It is not simply about changing energy sources or recycling waste; it is about ensuring that the business, as well as the people in it, embraces the bigger picture of climate change and what they can do individually to help reduce the effects of it."
Meanwhile, the spokesperson also said that companies can obtain a public relations boost by deploying eco-friendly technology, however, it is entirely another thing to incorporate these measures throughout each level of a business, which could include those involved in exchange hosting taking steps to cut their carbon footprint.
