Mobile broadband works by plugging a small, USB modem directly into your desktop computer or laptop, allowing you to gain access to the Internet to pick up emails, use applications or for simply browsing the web wherever you are.

Packages?
Depending on the package taken, most tariffs include an amount of UK data usage. This can be in the form of a fair usage policy which means that if you go over the data allowance you won’t be charged immediately but frequent over use will then be charged. Alternatively, there may be a usage limit, after which you will be charged automatically.
Costs for roaming (accessing the Internet overseas) may also vary depending on your package and may be in addition to your monthly rental.

A Mobile Broadband device - The USB Modem Stick Pro is the latest model from Vodafone, designed to fit flush into your laptop without any wires. This device supports Internet access at super fast speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps - that's 14 times faster than standard 3G. At this speed you could download a 5 Mb file in just 7 seconds. Alternatively take the Netbook which is a small laptop with built in Mobile Broadband so all you need to do is pop a SIM into the back of the Netbook and you can connect onto the internet without the need for a USB Modem device.
A Mobile Broadband Connection - this is a monthly tariff, with a contract term of either 12 or 24 months. A SIM card will be issued with the tariff just like a standard mobile phone connection, which will slot into the Mobile Broadband device.
A laptop or desktop PC - simply insert the device to access the Internet without the need for complex installation. It even works with Apple Macs.
