Piers Linney

Piers Linney

Piers is first and foremost an entrepreneur who draws upon a wide breadth of professional experience. Piers qualified as a solicitor in the City, specialising in private equity at SJ Berwin before joining Barclays de Zoete Wedd and then Credit Suisse First Boston as an investment banker in mergers and acquisitions. He left banking in 2000 to start an Internet based research business and has since been involved in a number of technology, media and telecommunications businesses as a founder, director, investor and adviser.

In 2003 he became the CEO and founder of an FSA regulated advisory boutique focused on alternative financing for small cap public companies and later was a Partner in an alternative investment fund providing structured financing to US, UK and European small cap public companies.

In March 2007, Piers structured a management buyout from DSG International plc with his business partner, Simon Newton. Piers is a major shareholder and board director of Outsourcery.

Piers is also a REACH National Role Model representing the Government-backed REACH programme, an initiative to raise the aspirations and achievements of young black men. He is a REACH champion in London and Manchester.

The success Piers has achieved as an entrepreneur was recognised in the Power List 2010, sponsored by JP Morgan and Thomson Reuters, a comprehensive compendium of the most influential black people in Britain today.


Simon Newton

Simon Newton

Simon qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in London then moved into the firm’s nascent mergers and acquisitions department after qualification. He then moved his advisory career to the next level as a banker with a stint at the London-based Hambros Bank (now part of Société Générale) before he joined Barclays de Zoete Wedd, which was subsequently acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston in January 1998 – where he met his business partner, Piers Linney.

Simon joined ING in 2000, working in the Dutch investment bank’s corporate finance division where he was appointed Managing Director, Corporate Finance in 2006.

Together with Piers Linney, he structured a management buyout from DSG International plc in March 2007. Simon's M&A experience has also been brought to bear on the subsequent three acquisitions that Outsourcery has carried out, the latest and largest being the acquisition of THUS Mobile from Cable & Wireless.

Simon is a major shareholder and board director of Outsourcery.


Adam Spurr

Adam Spurr

Adam is a sales led business leader with 15 years experience across the IT, Telecoms and Mobile sectors.

After graduating from Loughborough University, Adam joined FTSE 250 ERP player Kewill Systems, then onto Parametric Technology Corp and then Datawatch Inc in the data warehousing and service management space. He then spent 4 years at Energis, the Telco under Archie Norman and John Pluthero in a variety of roles including a year as Head of Sales at Energis Ireland before becoming General Manager of the Indirect Channel in the UK. Adam was then appointed Managing Director of Daisy. During his time there, Daisy won the Sunday Times Tech Track, as the fastest growing technology company in the UK.

Adam joined DSGi in 2006 and was part of the management buyout in 2007.


Lynne Mills

Lynne Mills

Lynne's career in B2B mobile telecoms began in 1987 when she joined West End Mobile Communications (one of BT's premier mobile dealerships) as Sales Manager. Having run the dealership for 3 years, Lynne joined BT Mobile (O2) in 1990 where during the following 10 years she undertook a number of key roles.

Lynne joined Cap Gemini as an associate Director in 2000 to head up the Media Service Line supporting a £45m business. She quickly established the strategy for the Media product and solution portfolio, becoming the leading technology supplier for digital rights solutions. Moving on to become the Relationship director for one of Cap Gemini's largest outsourced customers, Lynne's passion for delivering service excellence shone.

Lynne joined Outsourcery as Customer Operations Director in September 2004 and was part of the management buyout in 2007. With over 20 years of customer management experience, her drive and commitment to customers has seen customer satisfaction dramatically increase since she joined.


David Burke

David Burke

David was born in Australia but now lives in the UK with his English wife Nicholla. He originally spent four years with Ernst & Whinney in their Melbourne audit practice before moving to the UK in 1995. In the time since, David has held several roles for the Atex Media Group, the world's leading IT specialist in developing and installing software solutions for the media industry. Originally as part of the groups M&A division, David became the UK Finance Director before moving onto to head up the financial division for the companies EMEA companies. In 2002 David became the Group CFO, moving the head office to the UK and working closely with the board to restructure and refinance the group. In 2006 David left Atex and took up a consultancy role to help manage the sale and transfer of The Link to O2 for DSG International plc before becoming involved in the management buyout of Outsourcery, from DSG International plc. He has been the Finance Director of Outsourcery since April 2007. David's passions are skiing, travelling and seeing England lose at cricket and rugby.


Peter Williams

Peter Williams

Peter is an IT professional with 20 years experience of developing, implementing and managing IT solutions and systems in large and small companies. He qualified with an MSc in IT and started life as a developer and then systems analyst working on manufacturing and airline ticketing systems.

He subsequently worked as a consultant for six years at Oracle and Cap Gemini, travelling extensively throughout Europe and North America advising large multi-national companies how to implement ERP solutions. He then joined Kelloggs in Manchester, and became Programme Director for a 17 country European roll out of an ERP solution covering Finance, Order Management, Logistics and Manufacturing. He subsequently moved into operational management, and was responsible for the support, maintenance and development of these systems.

In 2004 Peter joined Outsourcery as IT Director and was responsible for implementing a state of the art billing platform for mobile telecoms products. In his time at Outsourcery Peter has implemented Prince II project management and ITIL support processes within the IT department.


Andy O'Connor

Andy O'Connor

Andy O'Connor joined Outsourcery in 2000 and is now Commercial Director. He has fulfilled senior Financial and Commercial roles for DSGi. His background is with some of the Top 100 fastest growing companies in the UK.


Claire Billington

Claire Billington

Claire is a chartered member of the CIPD, with over 14 years experience in Human Resources. She started her career managing outsourced recruitment and HR for blue chip companies.

Claire then left outsourced HR and recruitment for an in house role with Outsourcery. During this time she has led the HRD function in supporting the business through four acquisitions and TUPE transfers, merging various skills and cultures into the business. She has worked with the Directors of the business through organisational development and the changing focus the business into the Hosted services market.


Mark Seemann

Mark Seemann

Mark started his first business in 1989 designing video game adapters and after its sale 3 years later, set-up a business selling dial-up Internet access, whilst completing a degree in Computer Science at Coventry University.

By 2000 Mark was running a telecoms and broadband business called Pipemedia where he designed the UK's first telecoms self-service web portal. Later, as Operations Director and shareholder of AIM listed Legend plc, Mark was responsible for designing the converged voice and data product set and patented VoIP technology acquired by THUS plc in 2006. Following this acquisition, Mark co-founded Servelogic Plc — a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider to small and medium businesses which was acquired by Outsourcery in 2007.

As Product Strategy & Development Director, Mark is responsible for developing the product strategy which keeps Outsourcery at the forefront of the converged telecoms and hosted IT market.


Kath Dewar

Kath Dewar

Kath's career in B2B mobile and telecoms marketing began in 1996 when she joined Norweb Communications (Norweb Telecom), the telecoms division of United Utilities plc (a FSTE 100 company). She progressed through the business to Regional Marketing Manager following the launch of the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) services – when Norweb Telecom successfully bid for and won the first UK BWA licences and extended their services outside of the north-west.

Kath saw the company rebrand to Your Communications in 2002 and as Channel Marketing Manager managed all the regional marketing teams. Following the acquisition by THUS plc in 2005, Kath moved into the mobile division as Head of Customer Development, responsible for customer insights, marketing and communications.

Kath joined Outsourcery as Head of Marketing in July 2007 and was appointed as Marketing Director in March 2009.
