Outsourcery Launches New Talking Therapies App to Help Mental Healthcare Patients
A new Skype for Business based solution will enable clinicians to offer patients more frequent contact and reduced waiting times
The UK leader in Unified Communications in the cloud, aims to work with NHS Mental Healthcare Trusts to augment face to face consultations with voice, video and instant messaging.
Paul Todd, Public Sector Lead at Outsourcery explained; “Over the past two years the Government has focused more resources on alleviating waiting times for mental healthcare, but with greater funding has come an onus on trusts to deliver better patient outcomes, ever more efficiently. There has been a common understanding that early intervention in the treatment of depression, stress, anxiety and phobias can help patients to avoid developing even more complex conditions later.”
Outsourcery’s Talking Therapies App enables clinicians to reach out to patients via any device, be that tablet, phone, laptop or desktop. Clinicians will be able to create secure “virtual” consultation therapy via voice, video and instant messaging with the anonymity of attendees protected and the ability to record the sessions where appropriate.
“The Talking Therapies App enables you to deploy a Skype user experience familiar to many users but customised to your organisations brand identity. Clinicians will have a secure logon that enables them to plan, schedule and launch therapy sessions with an interface that is easy to navigate and populate.
Paul Todd, Public Sector Lead at Outsourcery
Todd continued; "The functionality will provide a virtual clinical room for 1:1 or group consultations supporting audio, video and content sharing; accessible via a simple web interface and easy to use for clinician and patient alike. The new app will allow clinical teams to engage from the office, in the community or at home, with patients also in the setting that puts them most at ease.
Patients will have their own conference sign-in with a welcome screen and reassurance of their anonymity. Once admitted to the conference, the clinician can share content to stimulate discussion and control patient video and voice access where needed.”
Outsourcery is in discussions with a number of trusts to deploy the new App. Todd concluded; “Skype for Business has the potential to revolutionise an organisation’s capability across many sectors but it is particularly gratifying to see how the core Skype for Business functionality and Outsourcery’s sector expertise and product development can make a big difference to such a key area of public health and wellbeing.”
