A Word From The Top - Piers Linney, August 2015
From the August 2015 issue of Cloud Talk. Once again, we’ve been going through an incredibly busy period of time, both in the broader IT industry and here at Outsourcery.
In the market, we have seen that cloud technologies continue to gain momentum, as highlighted in recent research carried out by the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF).
CIF’s cloud adoption research polled 250 senior IT and business decision-makers from both the public and private sectors in the UK and found that security and data privacy continue to rank highly in the minds of end-users.
CIF’s research also reported a 90% satisfaction rate and showed that 70% of IT leaders intend to increase their use of cloud in the next twelve months. This shows that the industry is on its way to maturity and people are feeling more confident than ever in cloud-based services – good news for Outsourcery!
Another notable mention goes to the Outsourcery team for everything they have achieved since our last issue of Cloud Talk. Needless to say, they have been working tirelessly to ensure as a company we are top of our game in providing outstanding solutions and services.
It is testament to their hard work that we were recently named as a finalist in the 2015 Microsoft Public Sector: Government Partner of the Year Award. Outsourcery was honoured among a global field of top Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of solutions, based on Microsoft technology. What’s more, Outsourcery was one of only three finalists and the only UK organisation in the mix.
This brings me to the next update – and one that is particularly exciting for Outsourcery. Outsourcery will be launching the next version of Lync, Microsoft’s Skype for Business, this summer.
Skype for Business will bring together the best of Skype and Lync, bridging the gap between the familiar user experience of Skype and the business-grade functionality that existing Lync users will be familiar with. What’s more, Outsourcery’s customers will benefit from a Skype for Business solution that offers full enterprise voice, making it suitable as a complete PBX telephony replacement, with full UK support.
Microsoft’s decision to launch Skype for Business is in itself a strong indication that the consumerisation of IT is a major driving force behind the latest workplace IT – its inclusion in the Microsoft portfolio is a key milestone in this trend. If you’re a business looking to find out more, or if you don’t want to get left behind, register now for our upcoming webinar which will include a live demonstration.
In partner news, our partner-focused approach remains as vital as ever – partners have always been a cornerstone of the Outsourcery business – and in recognition of this, Outsourcery’s Vicky Ryder has been appointed as Head of Partner Sales.
Formerly Strategic Partner Lead, Vicky will be working closely with our existing partners, to see how we can best support these relationships going forward, as well as reaching out to new areas in the channel. I’m really looking forward to her helping drive growth – for us and our partners – in this new role. If you’re an existing partner, it’s worth adding that you should ‘save the date’ for our Annual Partner Event, which will take place on 10th September in London.
